Ashley Sawyer was found dead on April 30 at an apartment complex in Hoover, Alabama, police told CNN. Authorities said they were investigating her death as a drug overdose. Sawyer appeared on MTV's "Catfish" in 2013 with Michael Fortunato whom she had been communicating with online for seven years. Fortunato died of a pulmonary embolism a month after their episode aired.

Daisy Lewellyn, star of "Blood, Sweat & Heels" on Bravo, died at age 36 from cancer, the network confirmed on Friday, April 8.

Musician Chris Carney, who starred in MTV reality show "twentyfourseven" before marrying actress Tiffany Thornton, died in a car crash December 4 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The couple has two children.

Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" star Tony Lara, center, died while in Sturgis, South Dakota, for the famed motorcycle rally that takes over the city each August.

Reality star Loredana Nesci, 47, was found dead in her California home on Wednesday, July 22. Redondo Beach police said they suspect foul play and are investigating the death as a homicide.

Anthony Riley, a contestant on the eighth season of "The Voice," died on June 5 at age 28, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Ryan Knight, who was part of the 2010 cast of MTV's "Real World New Orleans," died in November, according to police in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Police say that after the 28-year-old went out with friends on Thanksgiving, he was sleeping on the floor when someone noticed he was not breathing.

MTV reality star Diem Brown died November 14 after a long battle with cancer. She was 32.

Singer and model Joanne Borgella, an "American Idol" contestant in 2008, died October 18 after a battle with cancer, according to her family. She was 32.

Simone Battle, an "X Factor" finalist and member of the group G.R.L., was found dead in a Los Angeles home on September 5, a coroner's spokesman said. She was 25.

One-time "American Idol" finalist Michael Johns died on August 1. According to Entertainment Weekly, the Australian-born singer, who was on the Fox program in 2008, died at the age of 35. The Hollywood Reporter said the cause is believed to be a blood clot in his ankle.
